How our functional admixtures solved real problems at ready-mix plants, precast yards and infrastructure sites — hot weather, high-mud aggregate, long transit and winter concreting.

Ready-mix plant keeps slump in 42℃ summer
Ready-mixHot weatherSlump retention
Long hauls and +40℃ air caused slump loss before discharge. A retarder + water-retaining combination held 180 mm slump for 60 minutes with no cold joints at the pour.
- Slump 180±20 mm held 60 min at 38–42℃
- No set acceleration or strength loss at 28 d
- Dosage stabilised across three cement sources

Precast pipe-pile yard doubles mould turnover
PrecastPipe pilesEarly strength
Moulds were occupied up to 14 h in winter. An early-strength + accelerator dosing schedule cut demoulding to 8 h while keeping 28 d strength on spec.
- Demoulding time 14 h → 8 h
- Same-day second cast per mould
- Zero surface defects after steam curing

High-mud aggregate no longer eats the dosage
Aggregate qualityAnti-clayManufactured sand
Crushed sand with up to 8% clay fines made PCE demand swing batch to batch. Anti-clay agent restored dosage stability and compressive strength without extra water.
- Stable admixture dosage with 6–8% clay fines
- Water demand back to design
- Higher 28 d strength vs untreated mix
#04
90-minute transit for a large infrastructure pour
InfrastructureLong haulSlump retention
Mixers travelled 90 min to a bridge foundation pour in summer. A retention-oriented retarder kept the concrete placeable and pumpable on arrival.
- Workability retained after 90 min transit
- Pumped 40 m without blockages
- Crack-free mass pour at 28 d

Mass concrete foundation keeps peak temperature down
Mass concreteHeat control
A 2 m-thick foundation slab risked thermal cracking. Retarder slowed early hydration and lowered the peak temperature rise inside the core.
- Peak core temperature reduced by trial dosing
- Thermal gradient kept below 20℃
- No visible shrinkage or thermal cracks

Winter concreting continues at −15℃
Winter concretingAnti-freezeEarly strength
Site work had to continue below −15℃. Anti-freeze combined with early strength let concrete gain strength in cold weather without heating tents.
- Protected + strength gain at −15℃
- Simplified winter heating on site
- On-schedule pours through December
